Decide on embedded platform for Generator

Description

The Generator component needs a micro-controller to communicate (via USB) with the host system. That controller needs to decode and produce the communications protocol designed for the system. Which micro-controller platform should be used?

Right now I'm leaning toward using something like the eZ430-F2013 as a platform for the Generator. I need to find out more about it and also consider some of the other options (such as Arduino).

I'm going to go with the STM32F4DISCOVERY platform. This platform is supported by GNAT and I'm looking for a good excuse to try it out. This will also allow me to do my development in Ada which interests me more than using C or C++.

Although it's not 100% clear that this platform will have the necessary features to do everything that I want, the ability to use Ada is an overwhelming advantage right now. I'm willing to adapt my requirements a little to work around any (minor) limitations this platform might have.
